Moving Multiplex IHC into Clinical Trials

Progress in Oncology requires a detailed understanding of the cellular composition and spacial distribution of tumor epithelial cells and the adjacent stroma that includes a broad diversity of cells such as immune cells, fibroblasts, endothelial cells or neurons. A powerful tool to quantify diagnostic, prognostic or predictive biomarkers in this context is immune-fluorescence based multiplexing IHC in combination with automated image analysis tools guided by experienced pathologists. This seminar will focus on recent technical advances to facilitate the transition of this technology into clinical trials as well as on challenges to keep in mind.
